Falcon Heights Enhances Community Safety with New Police Partnership

In a significant move to bolster public safety, the City of Falcon Heights has entered into a renewed partnership with St. Anthony Village to provide police services. This collaboration, effective since March 2025, aims to address community concerns by emphasizing increased police visibility and fostering positive relationships between officers and residents.

Mayor Randy Gustafson highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “Meeting resident expectations for public safety services is a top priority of our City Councils. This renewed partnership with St. Anthony Village and Lauderdale centered on community-oriented policing services will benefit all of us in the years ahead.”

The decision to seek a new police services partner was driven by community feedback gathered in early 2023. Residents and businesses expressed a desire for law enforcement that prioritizes consistent patrols and ongoing engagement. Responding to these needs, Falcon Heights approached St. Anthony Village in early 2024 to discuss re-establishing their previous partnership, which had been in place from 1994 until 2017.

The renewed agreement focuses on community-oriented policing, aiming to build trust and ensure the safety of all Falcon Heights residents. This partnership reflects the city’s commitment to adapting and responding to the evolving needs of its community.
